The LYSP Sportsmanship Scholarship is a $1,000 scholarship given to a resident of Lynnfield, who is a graduating senior of any school and a student in good standing, who previously participated as a player in one of the youth sports programs administered by LYSP (youth basketball, youth field hockey, youth volleyball), and who exemplifies good sportsmanship and character in athletic competition and within the community.

The deadline for applying is April 30th and requires electronic submission of the following information sent to LYSPscholarship@gmail.com:

1. Name
2. Phone Number
3. List of the LYSP youth sports programs in which you participated, along with the dates of participation and names of coaches or other volunteers with whom you interacted
4. List of high school extracurricular activities, including sports, clubs, community service, academic achievements, and any awards or recognition you have received
5. Write a short essay on what youth athletics meant to you and how you believe it has helped you demonstrate sportsmanship and character in athletics and within the community.

The selections will be announced by the end of May.
